Volo Bog

Volo Bog is the only bog in Illinois.  It is unique in that it shows the left over result of the melting of the ice age land mass that did not turn into a lake or other flowing waterway. Places of the bog are of quicksand likeness.  Here are some photos from the bog.  Remember to always follow the mapped out trail so you don't sink in somewhere.
